Best Seafood Restaurants in Cyprus: Where to Eat by Region

Cyprus is an island, but not every seaside restaurant offers the same seafood experience. Some specialise in Mediterranean fish dishes, others serve seafood platters and sushi, and a traditional fish meze has an entirely different rhythm. The best seafood restaurant for your visit depends on the region, the menu and how you want to share your meal.

This guide compares five specific seafood options across Paphos, Limassol and Larnaca. We use published restaurant information rather than invented rankings, and we recommend checking menus, prices and opening arrangements directly before visiting.

Seafood in Cyprus: five places to compare

  • Kohili at Cap St Georges, Paphos district: resort-based Mediterranean seafood dining.
  • Ocean Basket Paphos Limanaki: seafood and sushi in the harbour area.
  • NEREA at AMARA, Limassol: a dedicated fish and seafood restaurant beside the coast.
  • Ocean Basket Germasogeia, Limassol: a casual seafood-platter and sharing option.
  • Ocean Basket Finikoudes, Larnaca: seafood in a central coastal location.

1. Kohili — Mediterranean seafood on the Paphos coast

Kohili is one of the restaurants at Cap St Georges Hotel & Resort near Agios Georgios Pegeia. The resort describes its Mediterranean menu as combining seafood with regional ingredients in an olive-tree setting overlooking the coast.

Best suited to: diners who want seafood in a resort environment and are comfortable planning the meal ahead of time. Look at the official Kohili restaurant information for the current menu and service. Importantly, Kohili Restaurant and the resort's seasonal Kohili Beach Bar are not the same dining format; confirm which you intend to visit.

Our Kohili dining guide explains more about the atmosphere and what to ask when booking.

2. Ocean Basket Limanaki — seafood around Paphos Harbour

Ocean Basket at Paphos Limanaki offers a different approach: seafood and sushi choices in a harbour-side area with options for individual meals and sharing. It is an option for families or groups whose preferences may range from fish to lighter dishes.

Best suited to: a convenient seafood meal while exploring the harbour. There is also an Ocean Basket in Coral Bay, so check that your directions match the Limanaki branch. See our Paphos Limanaki venue guide and the official branch directory.

3. NEREA at AMARA — a seafood-led dinner in Limassol

On the Limassol hotel coast, AMARA lists NEREA as its dedicated fish and seafood restaurant, located where the setting meets the sea. It is one to compare when seafood itself is the centre of a special dinner rather than an addition to a meat-heavy menu.

Best suited to: a planned coastal meal or celebration. Ask about the current catch, whether whole fish is available and how portions are priced. If you are comparing alternative cuisines in the same area, read our fine dining collection.

4. Ocean Basket Germasogeia — accessible seafood in Limassol

Ocean Basket Germasogeia is a Limassol option for a more casual format, including familiar seafood dishes and platters. It works as a starting point when a group values a broad menu and easier sharing arrangements.

Best suited to: informal dinners, groups and mixed dining preferences. Check the official menu and whether a platter serves your group's number rather than assuming every seafood assortment is identical.

5. Ocean Basket Finikoudes — seafood in Larnaca

Ocean Basket Finikoudes is a Larnaca city option for seafood and sushi. It can be useful if you are organising a meal around the Finikoudes area rather than travelling outside the centre.

Best suited to: visitors or residents who want a defined seafood option in central Larnaca. Use the operator's list of restaurants to verify the exact branch information and current service.

Fish meze, sharing platter or a single main?

These terms are not interchangeable. Fish meze typically means a succession of shared dishes, but the number of courses and what is included can differ. A seafood platter is usually a defined assortment ordered for one or more people. A whole-fish main may be priced as a single dish or by weight, depending on the restaurant.

For fish meze, ask whether the whole table must order and whether the price is per person. For platters, check which fish, shellfish and sides are included. For whole fish, confirm the price before it is prepared if the menu specifies a weight-based charge. Our fish meze guide walks through the ordering questions in more detail.

What to ask before booking seafood

  • Is the seafood fresh, frozen or subject to daily availability for the item you want?
  • Does the venue offer cooked options for guests avoiding raw fish?
  • Are shellfish, fish and other allergens handled in the same kitchen area?
  • Is an outdoor table or sea view specifically available on your date?
  • Is fish charged by weight, portion or sharing platter?
  • What cancellation, deposit or table-time terms apply to your reservation?

Explore the seafood collection, browse Paphos, Limassol and Larnaca, or compare fish meze traditions before deciding. An enquiry through a directory is not a confirmed reservation until the restaurant accepts it.
