Finding somewhere different in Paphos does not have to mean chasing a “secret” restaurant. Established tavernas, a courtyard in the Old Town or a café near where you are staying can all offer a change from the most familiar waterfront stops.
Try an established taverna
Hondros is one name to research for a taverna meal in Paphos. It appears in the official Cyprus tourism restaurant listings. Look at the current menu before visiting and ask which dishes are available that day.
If you are unfamiliar with the food, our guide to Cypriot dishes explains names you may encounter. Knowing whether you want individual plates or a shared meal makes the first conversation with the restaurant easier.
Look around the Old Town
Kiniras is another place to investigate. The Old Pafos listing describes a restaurant in a traditional hotel with a courtyard setting. Confirm restaurant service and availability directly; a hotel’s opening arrangements and its dining hours are not necessarily the same.
Allow time for the journey between Kato Paphos and the Old Town. “Paphos” covers more than one walkable restaurant area, so open the exact map pin before setting off.
Choose somewhere close to your plans
Further out, La Casa in Pegeia is an option to explore for a daytime café or brunch visit. It is a different outing from a harbour dinner, and it may fit better if you are already around Pegeia or Coral Bay.
For a coffee-led stop, browse our local café guide. For a meal with children, use the practical questions in our family dining guide.
Judge the restaurant, not the label
“Hidden gem” is not a guarantee of low prices, traditional cooking or a better experience. Check the menu, location, recent information and the kind of service you want. A busy, well-known restaurant can be the right choice too.
Compare more places in our Paphos restaurant directory, then contact your preferred venue for its current hours and table availability.
