Limassol beyond the marina: tavernas and city dining

You do not need to find a secret restaurant to have a different evening in Limassol. Looking at the Old Town, city streets and nearby communities already gives you different food and settings to compare. Here are four places to investigate without assuming they are unknown, cheaper or better simply because of the area.

Meze Taverna: Old Town dining

Forsos: Mouttagiaka

Forsos Tavern is in Mouttagiaka. Check the exact location and route before deciding how it fits your evening. The address should not be confused with Agios Athanasios.

Karatello: near the Medieval Castle

Karatello is part of the Carob Mill setting near Limassol’s Medieval Castle. It is an established Old Town option rather than an undiscovered venue. Compare its menu and setting with other places in the area.

Embers: a different style on Gladstonos Road

Embers Kitchen describes open-fire, teppanyaki and grill cooking. It should not be presented as though it has the same menu as a traditional meze taverna. Read our Embers feature if that style of dining appeals.

Choose the evening, then the route

Check the service time, menu and return journey before reserving. If someone recommends a village outside the city, ask for the exact restaurant and location rather than assuming all village tavernas provide the same experience.
